"This attractive and engaging set is a delightful entry into the student-encyclopedia market and a much-needed addition for the age group...accessible, appealing, and highly browsable. It provides just the right amount of information without overwhelming young researchers and would also work well for older ESL/ELL students or middle-school students reading below grade level."

Encyclopædia Britannica
"Encyclopædia Britannica retains its position as an excellent scholarly reference source for public, academic, and secondary-school libraries."
—Booklist, September 15, 2007
"For virtually all its 238 years, Britannica has ruled the shelves as a peerless general encyclopedia. Authority and breadth and depth of subject coverage remain unassailable, and the writing style and approach are consistently scholarly in the best sense of the term-clear, concise, and often elegant. recommended for all libraries with adult readers."
—Library Journal, September 1, 2007
Ready, Set, Research! With Britannica Student Encyclopedia
"The Ready, Set, Research Guide is a comprehensive resource for both teachers and Media specialists. It could easily stand alone and be used for planning and teaching the research process but will also serve as a valuable tool along with Encyclopedia Britannica Online. From a library/media specialist perspective it really covers all the essential information we need our students to know. Breaking down the process and including exactly what needs to be covered in each will give educators a place to start and good mini-lesson ideas. The research steps in the guide are aligned with what we teach and know as best practice. I was impressed with how much information is covered, yet it is easy to read and understand; never overwhelming. Dewey decimal is even mentioned along with a great section on citing sources. It is very user friendly for teachers/librarians, students and parents. Ready, Set, Research gets a high recommendation from me!"
